The Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management, Nashik, India, is a management education institute which serves only operations stream of the management studies. It was established in 2005 to impart knowledge on Operations management. It is a part of Symbiosis family of institutes Pune, one of the largest private Educational Trusts in India.

Overview

SIOM is an institute dedicated to operations management (OM). It is located about 185 km away from Mumbai and 220 km away from Pune. It conducts various research projects with the industries which are located in Nashik or nearby.

Course Offered

SIOM offers Master in Business Administration (Operations Management) being a constituent of Symbiosis International University (formerly known as Symbiosis International Education Centre). MBA (Operations Management) is a full time residential course offered to the engineering graduates joining through a common entrance test conducted for all the Symbiosis Institutes called SNAP TEST.

Selection Procedure

Students are selected through a national level entrance test, the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test for Post Graduation (SNAP). It is a common entrance test for all institutes under the umbrella of the Symbiosis Society, held generally in the month of December. Engineering Graduates from recognized university with minimum 50% aggregate marks (all years put together) or equivalent grades are eligible to apply. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of individual profiles and the written test are called for subsequent stages of the selection process viz. group discussion, personal interview and Director's interview.

SEED

SIOM-SEED is a student cell of Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management, set-up to provide a helping hand for small and medium enterprises to streamline their operations inline with the modern practices. This cell mainly focuses on the problem defined by the respective organizations such as surplus stock, high Work In Process (WIP), delay in production, high rejection rate, high process defects, poor quality, poor documentation, etc.
